MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE (MAC) — COLLEGE ROSTERS 2025
Miami (OH) set the tone in 2024, winning the MAC Championship 3–0 over James Madison to claim a seventh straight title and the league’s automatic NCAA bid. In the national tournament, the RedHawks edged Vermont 2–1 in the first round before falling to eventual champion Northwestern 9–2 in the second round—an illustration of just how high the bar is at the national level. The 2025 preseason poll hints at a tightly packed race at the top: UMass leads the ballot, followed by JMU, Miami, App State, Kent State, Ball State, Ohio, Longwood, Bellarmine, and Central Michigan. On paper, UMass and JMU bring top-end balance, while Miami’s championship core keeps the RedHawks firmly in the mix. International representation continues to be a defining trait across the MAC. UMass leads the league with 15 international players, followed by Miami (11). Ball State and JMU each feature eight or nine internationals (9 and 8, respectively), with Kent State and Ohio both at seven. App State and Central Michigan carry six apiece, Bellarmine is at eight, and Longwood rounds out the group with three. That global depth should translate into varied styles of play and a high technical baseline across the conference. Conference play and nonconference slates will sharpen contenders quickly.
