The wait is over. The NCAA Division I Field Hockey season officially kicks off today, ushering in months of fierce competition, incredible talent, and dreams set in motion across college campuses nationwide. As excitement builds, we’re starting our coverage by spotlighting one of the most competitive and tradition-rich conferences in the nation: The Big Ten.

The 2024 season was a testament to the strength and depth of the Big Ten Conference. University of Michigan captured the Big Ten Conference Championship, demonstrating remarkable consistency, tactical discipline, and resilience throughout the regular season. Meanwhile, Northwestern University made a historic postseason run, ultimately being crowned NCAA National Champions. Their success not only highlighted the elite level of competition within the Big Ten but also reaffirmed the conference’s reputation as a powerhouse in Division I field hockey.

As we kick off this new season, FH College Path is proud to unveil our Big Ten College Rosters 2025. This detailed roster breakdown offers a compact, class-by-class look at each program's current team composition — including freshmen phenoms, battle-tested seniors, and redshirt players ready to make their mark.

International players continue to shape the competitive edge of Big Ten field hockey programs in the 2025 season. Iowa leads the conference with 13 international athletes, including 6 freshmen, 3 sophomores, 3 juniors, and 1 senior. Close behind, Michigan State features 10 international players, made up of 4 freshmen, 4 sophomores, and 2 juniors. Rutgers University follows with 9 internationals, including 3 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 1 junior, and 3 seniors. Indiana University has 8 international players on its roster—3 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 1 senior. Maryland fields 7 international athletes, with 3 freshmen, 2 sophomores, and 2 seniors. Both Northwestern University and University of Michigan carry 5 international players: Northwestern includes 1 freshman, 2 sophomores, 1 junior, and 1 senior; Michigan lists 2 freshmen, 1 sophomore, and 2 juniors. Penn State has 3 international players, consisting of 1 freshman, 1 senior, and 1 graduate student. Finally, Ohio State University features just 1 international player, a sophomore.
